Cotton
Cotton is a natural fiber that comes from the cotton flower. Cotton fibers are made of more than 90% cellulose molecules, known to be the most absorbent organic molecule on Earth. Harvested cotton is processed into bobbins which are then spun to become the main element of bed linen: thread.
The processing, work, and weaving of the thread will determine the final appearance of the linen: percale, sateen, cotton gauze...
57-thread count cotton
This Tradition des Vosges bed linen, made of 100% cotton, is designed with 57 threads/cm². This gives it all the qualities of cotton with an excellent quality/price ratio.
Care instructions:
57-thread count cotton is easy to care for. The bed linen can be washed at a maximum temperature of 60°C and tumble-dried. Ironing is possible at a hot setting.
Cotton percale
A textile fiber made from the silky filaments that surround cotton seeds. It is called percale when there are at least 80 threads per square centimeter. The resulting fabric is soft, fine, light, and supple.
Care Instructions:
Cotton percale is easy to care for. Bed linen can be washed at up to 60°C and tumble dried. Ironing is possible with a hot iron. Tradition des Vosges cotton percale is EASY CARE treated. These textiles are water-repellent, oil-repellent, stain-resistant, and very abrasion-resistant.
Cotton sateen
The particular, dense and tight weave of cotton sateen gives it a slightly satiny appearance and a very soft and silky feel. Other types of sateen exist:
- jacquard sateen: it takes its name from the loom of the same name. This allows the creation of complex patterns, visible on both the front and back.
- washed sateen: this fabric is washed after weaving to obtain a more matte appearance and an even softer feel. It offers a slightly wrinkled and relaxed look, while retaining the characteristic softness of sateen.
Care:
Cotton sateen is a fabric that requires delicate care if you wish to preserve its satiny appearance: wash at 40°C without solvent and reduced spinning. Gentle tumble dry or natural drying away from direct sunlight. Iron on reverse with a low heat and no steam.
Cotton gauze
This fabric is characterized by a loose, light, and ultra-soft weave. Its appearance is naturally crinkled. Cotton gauze gives a very airy style while being very comfortable.
Care instructions:
The advantage of cotton gauze is that it does not require ironing! On the contrary, ironing could damage it. It should be washed at 40°C and tumble-dried at a moderate temperature of 60°C maximum. Beware of snags: it is a rather delicate fabric.
Washed satin
Washed satin is a soft and flowing fabric with a slightly matte finish, combining the silky elegance of satin with a more natural and comfortable feel.
Care Instructions:
Machine wash at 40°C on a moderate cycle, with gentle drying recommended. Please note: this delicate material requires careful maintenance to preserve its luster and fluidity.
Flax
Linen is known by all as a high-end fabric. And for good reason, making a linen fabric is a long, complex and delicate process. Once the flax has matured in the fields, it is pulled out by small machines to preserve the fibers at the bottom of the plant. The next step, retting, consists of spreading the flax on the ground for several weeks or even months so that the alternation of sun and rain separates the stem from the fibers. Then, the flax rolled into a bale goes through scutching to separate the straw from the fiber. Finally, this fiber is combed and spun to become the thread that will make up this highly prized fabric!
Washed linen
Known to all for its crinkled appearance, this is achieved through numerous high-temperature washes and tumble drying. Since linen fiber is naturally very rough, this process will significantly soften the material to make it comfortable in your bed.
Care Instructions:
Washed linen is one of those materials that will visibly improve with washing. This linen can be washed at a temperature of 40°C with moderate drying at a maximum of 60°C. Ironing is possible up to 110°C, but the fabric will then lose its crinkled appearance that makes it so unique.
The métis
This fabric, a little less known than pure linen, is no less trendy! Metis is actually a blend of linen and cotton, two natural materials that together offer softness and strength. Its use is ideal for kitchen linen because of its adequate absorbency!
Care instructions:
Can be washed at a maximum temperature of 60°C. Tumble dry on a normal program at a maximum of 80°C. Iron at a maximum temperature of 150°C.
Bath linen
Whether for decoration or comfort, bath linen has become increasingly high-quality over the years. From the timeless cotton terry towel to honeycomb, and modal, materials are now more diverse and varied.
Terry fabrics are characterized by their weave with an incomparable loop finish and their ability to absorb a large quantity of water. The grammage per square meter of bath linen is essential as it is the primary sign of quality. Tradition des Vosges bath linen is OEKO-TEX certified!
The cotton sponge
Known for its high absorbency, cotton bath linen is a bathroom essential. Soft and comfortable, it comes in an infinite array of colors and patterns.
Care instructions:
Note that it will take several washes for a towel to reach its full absorbency. Wash and dry at 60°C. Tumble dry your cotton linen for extra softness.
The honeycomb
Its name comes from the small honeycombs formed by a particular weave. Light and elegant, it is highly valued by hoteliers for its durability. Honeycomb fabric is particularly robust and retains a new appearance even after many washes.
Care instructions:
Wash at 60°C with reduced spin, and tumble dry at 60°C.
Duvets and pillows
There's a duvet for every season. There's a pillow for every comfort! Whether made with natural or synthetic filling, duvets and pillows are the main components of a restful sleep.

Natural filling
A duvet or pillow made from natural materials guarantees incomparable warmth and lightness. Their cotton percale casing offers a high weave density for durability. Practical, durable, the natural duvet is thermoregulating to ensure optimal comfort all year round.
Care instructions:
Machine washing is prohibited (except by a specialist). A down duvet can be hand washed in lukewarm water with quick drying without using a tumble dryer. To maintain its fluffiness, add 2 tennis balls to the washing machine.
Synthetic insulation
Renowned for being healthy and easy to maintain, synthetic duvets and pillows are ideal for allergy sufferers while guaranteeing pleasant warmth. The interior is made of polyester or nano fibers for optimal thermal conductivity, and its cover is made of microfiber or cotton percale, for incomparable softness during your nights.
Care instructions:
Synthetic duvets and pillows can be machine washed without a problem, as long as the washing recommendations indicated on the label are strictly followed. If your duvet is too bulky, you will need to have it dry-cleaned.
