Satin is not a material in the true sense of the word: it is a weaving method. It is obtained with one thread underneath for three (or four) threads on top. This process thus gives the fabric a shiny and silky finish. At Tradition des Vosges, the number of threads that make up our satin is between 80 and 120 threads/cm², which gives it superior strength.

Ideal in all seasons thanks to its tight weave, satin insulates from the cold in winter, but is very breathable in summer. It is a fabric that offers perfect body temperature regulation. Enough to make it your ally all year round! Furthermore, this fabric is ideal for preserving your skin and hair. Indeed, it absorbs neither beauty products nor sebum and therefore limits the accumulation of bacteria. In addition, the specific weave of satin significantly reduces hair friction on it. How to care for your cotton sateen bedding?

To ensure a long lifespan for your satin bedding set, it is necessary to follow a few precautions and establish the appropriate routine.

Step 1: Pre-wash

First, turn the new linen inside out and proceed with a pre-wash. A program at a maximum of 30°C is recommended, with 1/4 dose of detergent. Pre-washing is an essential step to preserve colors and remove all finishes.

Step 2: Washing

Tradition des Vosges satin bed linen is machine washable up to 40°C maximum, using a delicate program. A solvent-free detergent and reduced spinning (maximum 900 rpm) are recommended. In case of a stubborn stain, prefer to use a targeted stain remover beforehand. You can also add a dose of white vinegar to make your linen even softer. At the end of the cycle, do not delay in removing your linen to limit wrinkles that are difficult to smooth out later.

Step 3: Drying and Ironing

To perfect the care of your linen, air drying is recommended. If this is not possible, the tumble dryer is a perfectly viable option. For this, a moderate program (60°C) is essential to avoid premature wear of the fabric.

Regarding ironing, your iron should not exceed 150°C. We recommend ironing on the reverse side so that the satin visible on the front face retains all its shine over time.
